About Our Pastor
Pastor Jim Duncan
Pastor Jim Duncan was born in Cedar Grove, West Virginia. Jim was saved, called to preach,
and surrendered his life to full time ministry while serving in the United States Air Force.
Upon serving his country, he enrolled in Baptist Bible College. It was at Baptist Bible College
that he met his bride, Jewell Bailey. They dated for a year and were married on May 24, 1968
After attending Baptist Bible College and seminary for 4 years, Jim graduated in May of 1970
with a B.S in Pastoral Theology. Jewell also graduated in May of 1968 with an Associates
Degree in Missions and a minor in Christian Education. Upon graduation, they moved to
Brookfield, Missouri where Jim was pastor for 5 years. Jim and his family then moved to
Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church in Centerville, IA., where he was called as pastor. He
faithfully served in this capacity for 3 years before coming to Boulder, Colorado in August of
1978 as Pastor. He and his wife, Jewell have been married 40 years and have three children
including 3 adorable and precious grandchildren.
ABOUT OUR CHURCH & GOD'S "AMAZING GRACE"
Pastor Jim and Jewell moved to Boulder from Centerville, Iowa to become the pastor of First
Bible Baptist Church 1870 Redwood Ave, in August of 1978. He was the third pastor of the
church which was started in 1970. Because it was nearly impossible to make the building
handicap accessible and many of the church family had moved out of Boulder to the east,
the church decided to sell church & property at current location and look for new property.
The 1870 Redwood property was sold in October of 2003 northeast Boulder. The church
has changed its name to Bible Baptist Church of Erie of 5050 County Line Rd 1 - Erie, CO.
Pastor Jim has been a pastor for over 38 years. Pastor and Jewell have presently
ministered at Bible Baptist over 30 years and look forward with excitement and anticipation
to see what God has in plan for their lives and Bible Baptist Church of Erie.
